New immune therapy aims to beat haemophilia's toughest complication
NCT ID NCT02207894
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study is testing a treatment called immune tolerance induction (ITI) in 300 people with haemophilia A who have developed inhibitors—antibodies that block the effectiveness of standard clotting factor therapy. The goal is to eliminate these inhibitors using high doses of individualized clotting factor products. Success is measured by normalizing factor activity and half-life, which would allow standard treatments to work again.
