Doctors test new drug combos against tough stomach bug

NCT ID NCT03431688

Summary

This study tested which of two antibiotic combinations works better to treat Helicobacter pylori stomach infections that have become resistant to a common antibiotic. Researchers enrolled 782 adults with conditions like peptic ulcers or stomach inflammation caused by this resistant bacteria. They directly compared a three-drug regimen to a four-drug regimen to see which one more effectively cleared the infection.
