Side-Lying gynecological exam could ease patient anxiety

Summary
This study tested whether a gynecological exam done while lying on the side (lateral decubitus) works well enough to be a regular alternative to the standard position. Over 500 women who needed a pelvic exam took part. The goal was to see if this position could make the exam more comfortable and respectful of modesty, which may help more women keep up with regular check-ups.
