First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests two different methods to lower the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a serious complication where donor cells attack the patient's body, after a stem cell transplant. About 120 adults with acute leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in remission will receive either a special filtering of donor cells or a drug called cyclophosphamide after transplant. The goal is to see which approach better prevents severe GVHD and relapse, helping patients live longer with fewer side effects.
