NCT ID NCT03970096
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests two different methods to lower the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a serious complication where donor cells attack the patient's body, after a stem cell transplant. The trial includes 120 adults with acute leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) whose disease is in remission. Participants receive chemotherapy and radiation before the transplant, then are randomly assigned to one of two GVHD prevention strategies. The goal is to see which approach helps patients live longer without relapse or severe GVHD.
