First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at the bacteria in the mouth and gut of 126 people to see if those with serrated polyposis syndrome have different bacteria than people without polyps or with other types of polyps. Researchers collected saliva and stool samples and compared the bacterial makeup. The goal was to better understand what causes this condition and its link to colorectal cancer.
