Gut check: could your microbiome hold the key to Sjogren's Flare-Ups?
NCT ID NCT04462601
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study explores whether changes in gut bacteria can affect Sjogren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease causing dry eyes, dry mouth, and fatigue. Researchers will measure certain proteins in the blood that indicate gut leakage, and see if they relate to disease activity. The goal is to better understand the link between gut health and Sjogren's, not to test a new treatment.
