First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study examines the gut bacteria of children aged 1 to 3 who take long-term antibiotics for a kidney condition called vesicoureteral reflux. Researchers will compare their gut bacteria to those of children with the same condition not on antibiotics and to healthy children. The goal is to understand how prolonged antibiotic use affects the diversity of gut microbes, which may influence immune health.
