First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a diet low in methionine (an amino acid) can change the bacteria in your gut and lower inflammation. Forty healthy adults will follow the diet for several weeks, with some also taking methionine supplements or a placebo. Researchers will measure gut bacteria, blood markers, and immune cells to see if this diet could one day help people with multiple sclerosis.
