First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at how healthy adults' gut bacteria change when they take a fiber supplement called chicory inulin. Researchers want to see how quickly and how long the bacteria change, and if it affects mood, appetite, and bowel habits. About 52 people will take either inulin or a placebo for 6 weeks, then be followed for another 6 weeks.
