NCT ID NCT06528041
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at how quickly and how much the gut bacteria change in healthy adults when they take a fiber called chicory inulin. Researchers will compare the effects of inulin to a placebo (maltodextrin) over 6 weeks, then follow participants for another 6 weeks after stopping. The goal is to understand differences between individuals in how their gut bacteria respond and how long those changes last. Participants will provide stool and blood samples and keep diaries about digestion, mood, and appetite.
