Can your gut bugs predict chemo side effects?
NCT ID NCT04751448
Summary
This study aims to understand how the community of bacteria in your gut (the microbiome) and what you eat might influence the risk and severity of diarrhea caused by chemotherapy for colon cancer. Researchers will collect stool samples, diet records, and blood from about 11 participants before and during their treatment. The goal is to see if they can use this information to predict which patients are more likely to experience this difficult side effect.
