Hidden gut crisis in blood cancer ICU patients revealed
NCT ID NCT07022548
First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at how common gut inflammation and a 'leaky gut' are in blood cancer patients admitted to the ICU with sepsis or septic shock. Researchers measured markers of gut damage in 80 patients to better understand this often-overlooked problem. The goal was to gather knowledge to improve future care, not to test a new treatment.
