First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at the natural bacteria in the gut of 131 adults—some with uveitis (an inflammatory eye disease) and some healthy—to see if differences in gut microbes are linked to eye inflammation. Participants provided stool and blood samples and had eye exams, but no treatment was given. The goal was simply to gather knowledge about possible connections between the microbiome and uveitis.
