Friendly bacteria vs. superbugs: can gut reset stop dangerous infections?

NCT ID NCT06214403

Summary

This study aimed to test if giving a capsule containing healthy gut bacteria (called MET-2) to hospitalized patients after they finish antibiotics for a serious bloodstream infection could help prevent future drug-resistant infections. The trial was designed as a small pilot to see if running a larger study was practical, but it was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled. Researchers planned to check if patients could take the capsules as directed and collect samples to understand how the treatment affected the body.
