Poop test could spot colon cancer sooner

NCT ID NCT06734156

Summary

This study aims to develop a simple, non-invasive test for colorectal cancer by analyzing the community of bacteria in a person's stool. Researchers will follow 400 newly diagnosed patients in Portugal, collecting stool and blood samples over three years to look for bacterial patterns linked to cancer. The goal is to find a better way to detect cancer early, especially in adults under 50 who are not routinely screened.
