Scientists track gut bugs to predict transplant complications

NCT ID NCT07464483

Summary

This study aims to understand how the community of bacteria in the gut (the microbiome) affects recovery in children and adults receiving a bone marrow transplant or advanced cell therapy like CAR-T. Researchers will collect stool and blood samples from 260 patients over time to see if specific patterns in gut bacteria or the immune system are linked to complications like infections or graft-versus-host disease. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better ways to predict and manage risks for future patients.
