Scientists gather gut bacteria clues in bone infection fight

NCT ID NCT03550911

Summary

This study aimed to collect and store samples of gut bacteria from 14 patients with serious bone or joint infections. The patients were receiving a specific long-term antibiotic treatment given under the skin. The purpose was to create a collection for future research to see if this treatment leads to antibiotic resistance in the gut, not to provide any direct treatment benefit to participants.
