Scientists probe why 'Poop Transplants' work for deadly gut infections
NCT ID NCT05739825
Summary
This study aims to understand how fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) works for patients with recurrent C. difficile infections. Researchers will analyze stool samples from 20 patients before and after they receive an FMT procedure to see how the community of gut bacteria changes. The goal is to learn why this treatment is so effective, not to test a new cure.
