Scientists probe Gut's role in teen obesity
NCT ID NCT03454828
Summary
This Yale University study aimed to understand the connection between gut bacteria, diet, and fat production in the liver during adolescence. Researchers studied 38 healthy teens and young adults to see if certain gut chemicals affect how the body makes fat and if a low-carb diet changes gut bacteria. The goal was to gather knowledge about potential mechanisms behind obesity, not to test a treatment.
