This study looks at whether the bacteria living in the gut, and the substances they produce, are linked to how well pelvic cancers respond to treatment. Researchers will collect stool and blood samples from about 450 people with bladder, prostate, cervical, ovarian, womb, or colorectal cancer before they start therapy. By comparing the gut bacteria profiles with treatment outcomes, the team hopes to identify which bacteria are helpful. This could one day lead to probiotics or dietary changes that boost those beneficial bacteria during cancer treatment.
