Gut bugs & supplements tested to fight hepatitis b
NCT ID NCT07257562
Summary
This study is observing if adding a specific gut bacteria (Bacteroides fragilis) and branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) to standard antiviral therapy helps the body clear the hepatitis B virus. Researchers will compare the clearance rate in 40 patients receiving this supplement to a control group on standard therapy alone. The goal is to see if this combination can help patients achieve a functional cure, where the virus is no longer detectable.
