NCT ID NCT03152760
Summary
This small, completed study aimed to understand the connection between gut bacteria and alcohol use disorder. Researchers compared the gut bacteria of people who currently drink heavily, those who have stopped, and healthy moderate drinkers. They also tested if different gut bacteria were linked to stronger cravings when people were exposed to alcohol-related cues in a simulated bar setting.
