First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether deep dental cleaning (non-surgical periodontal therapy) can improve kidney function in people with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes and moderate to severe gum disease. 46 participants will be split into two groups: one gets the cleaning right away, the other gets it after 90 days. Blood tests will measure kidney markers like creatinine and urea at the start and after 90 days to see if gum treatment helps.
