Gum fix showdown: old vs. new material for receding gums
NCT ID NCT03675334
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study compared two ways to treat receding gums: a standard connective tissue graft taken from the patient's own palate, and a porcine collagen matrix (Mucoderm) that doesn't require a second surgical site. 18 adults with gum recession were treated and followed for 6 months. The goal was to see if the collagen matrix works as well as the graft for covering exposed roots.
