Milled dental caps beat 3D-Printed for healthier gums, study finds

NCT ID NCT07287722

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested two types of temporary healing caps for dental implants: one milled from a solid block and one 3D-printed. In 22 adults, the milled caps caused less gum inflammation and bleeding over 4 weeks, likely due to their smoother surface. The findings help dentists choose the best option for early healing around implants.
