New gels aim to regrow bone lost to gum disease
NCT ID NCT05858411
First seen Jun 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding a special gel (rhPDGF, L-PRF, or EMD) to standard deep-cleaning helps repair bone damage from gum disease better than cleaning alone. 88 adults with advanced gum disease and bone pockets will be randomly assigned to one of four groups. Researchers will measure bone levels and pocket depths over 12 months to see which approach works best.
