New gel could help regrow gum and bone in periodontitis patients

NCT ID NCT07522684

First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a gel made from polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid, combined with a bone graft, can help repair deep gum and bone damage caused by periodontitis. About 66 adults with advanced gum disease will receive standard surgery alone, surgery with bone graft, or surgery with both bone graft and the gel. Researchers will measure gum healing and bone changes over 12 months to see if the gel improves outcomes.
