New gel challenges standard mouthwash in fight against gum disease
NCT ID NCT05312606
Summary
This study aimed to see if a hyaluronic acid gel works as well as a standard chlorhexidine mouthwash for managing gum disease at home. Forty patients with gum disease received a professional cleaning and were then randomly assigned to use either the gel or the mouthwash for 15 days. Researchers tracked their gum health and satisfaction over six months to compare the two treatments.
