Scientists search gum fluid for clues linking severe gum disease to heart health
NCT ID NCT07157878
Summary
This study aims to understand the connection between severe gum disease and heart health. Researchers will compare levels of a specific substance (oxidized LDL) in the fluid from the gums of 40 healthy people and people with advanced gum disease. The goal is to see if this substance could be a useful marker to better understand how gum disease might relate to other health problems.
