Dental implant study reveals gum shape changes after crown removal

NCT ID NCT06783595

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at how the gums around a dental implant change shape when the temporary crown is taken off. Researchers want to know how much time is needed before the gums settle enough to make an accurate mold for a new crown. About 34 adults with a front tooth implant will have their gums scanned over 15 minutes. The goal is to improve the fit and look of replacement crowns.
