Gut-Targeted pill tested for Veterans' mystery illness

Summary

This study is testing whether a gut-friendly supplement called butyrate can improve physical function and reduce symptoms in veterans with Gulf War Illness. About 120 veterans aged 40-70 with moderate to severe symptoms will take either the butyrate capsules or a placebo twice daily for 18 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in physical ability, fatigue, brain fog, gut health, and inflammation to see if the treatment helps control this complex condition.
