Summary

This study tests whether guanfacine, a medicine used for high blood pressure, can help people with alcohol use disorder drink less. Two hundred adults who want to quit drinking will take either guanfacine or a placebo for 12 weeks. Researchers will track drinking days, blood alcohol levels, and stress-related cravings using remote breathalyzers and surveys.
