VA designs new therapy to help veterans heal from War's moral wounds

NCT ID NCT05020587

Summary

This study aims to create a new group therapy program specifically for combat veterans dealing with moral injury—the psychological distress that can follow events that violate one's moral beliefs during war. Researchers are interviewing veterans and clinicians to design a therapy manual, then testing it with about 12 veterans to see if it's acceptable and feasible. The goal is to help veterans improve their daily functioning, relationships, and quality of life by processing these difficult experiences in a supportive group setting.
