Could a simple tea pill help stop diabetes in kids?
NCT ID NCT06229795
Summary
This study tested whether adding green tea extract to standard medication could help prevent obese children with prediabetes from developing type 2 diabetes. It involved 90 children aged 10-18 and compared the effects of green tea pills plus metformin against metformin alone over four months. Researchers measured changes in blood sugar control, insulin resistance, and various health markers to see if green tea offered extra protection.
