New hope for Graves' patients: drug aims to tame thyroid when standard pills fail
NCT ID NCT07570316
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026
Summary
This study tests an investigational drug called efgartigimod in adults with Graves' disease whose thyroid levels are still too high despite taking antithyroid drugs. The goal is to see if adding efgartigimod can help bring thyroid hormones back to normal and allow patients to reduce or stop their current medication. About 230 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo, and the study lasts up to 135 weeks depending on how each person responds.
