Scientists test if counting blessings eases pain
NCT ID NCT06317844
Summary
This study explored whether a short writing exercise about gratitude could change how people experience brief, experimental pain. Researchers had 145 healthy adults write about things they were thankful for or about neutral topics, then tested their pain by having them put a hand in cold water. The study also checked if a person's genes influenced the results.
