Mind over ankle: brain training may ease arthritis pain

NCT ID NCT07417436

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special brain-training technique called graded motor imagery to standard exercise can help people with foot or ankle osteoarthritis feel less pain and move better. Twenty-four adults with confirmed osteoarthritis will be randomly assigned to either exercise alone or exercise plus the imagery training for 12 sessions over 6 weeks. The results could lead to better physical therapy programs for this condition.
