New hope for kids with tough cancers: first test of 'Living Drug' therapy

Summary
This is the first time researchers are testing a new type of cell therapy called GPC2 CAR T in children. The trial aims to find a safe dose for kids with advanced neuroblastoma or metastatic retinoblastoma that has come back or hasn't responded to all other standard treatments. Doctors will collect and modify a patient's own immune cells to target a protein found on these cancer cells.
