Gout patients get a digital helping hand: new study tests Nurse-Led telehealth support

NCT ID NCT06971146

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether nurse-led telehealth support helps people with gout stick to their medication and keep uric acid levels under control. About 200 adults in Denmark who have already reached target uric acid levels will be randomly assigned to either nurse-led support (via app, letters, texts, or phone calls) or usual care with their general practitioner. The main goal is to see if the telehealth group maintains healthy uric acid levels and reports a better quality of life after one year.
