New gout drug trial seeks to tame painful flares

NCT ID NCT07280156

Summary

This study is testing whether a new medication called PRX-115, given through an IV drip, can help control gout in people who haven't responded well to standard pills. About 150 adults with gout will receive either the actual drug or a placebo (inactive solution) over 24 weeks, with some also taking a common immune-modulating drug called methotrexate. The main goal is to see if PRX-115 can safely and effectively lower uric acid levels in the blood, which is key to preventing painful gout attacks.
