New shot may offer easier gout treatment without need for IV

Summary
This study tests if a shot under the skin (subcutaneous) of pegloticase works as well as the standard IV infusion for people with uncontrolled gout. Both groups also take methotrexate weekly. The goal is to lower uric acid levels below 6 mg/dL for most of the sixth month. About 270 adults with hard-to-treat gout will take part.
