Gout imaging showdown: ultrasound vs. DECT in 60 patients
NCT ID NCT03162341
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at 60 adults with gout who were starting medication to lower uric acid. Researchers compared two types of imaging—ultrasound and a special CT scan—to see how well they measure changes in urate crystal deposits over 6, 12, and 24 months. The goal was to understand which method works better for tracking treatment effects, not to test a new treatment.
