New drug combo could offer better gout control for patients not helped by standard pills
NCT ID NCT07362355
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding a new drug (SHR4640) to a standard gout medication (febuxostat) works better than just increasing the dose of febuxostat alone. About 340 adults with gout and high uric acid who are not well-controlled on 40 mg of febuxostat will take either the combination or a higher dose for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if more people reach healthy uric acid levels with the combination.
