Meals on wheels for heart failure: VA tests if nutrition keeps vets out of hospital
NCT ID NCT05996328
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at whether providing home-delivered meals and extra dietary advice to older veterans with heart failure can improve their recovery after leaving the hospital. About 1,400 veterans aged 60 and older will be randomly assigned to receive either the meal support plus standard care, or standard care alone. The goal is to see if this approach helps them spend more days at home and feel better.
