Scientists repurpose meningitis shot in bid to stop gonorrhea spread

NCT ID NCT05766904

Summary

This study is testing whether a vaccine designed to prevent meningitis can also protect against gonorrhea, a common sexually transmitted infection. It involves 150 men in Hong Kong who are at risk for gonorrhea. Half will receive the real vaccine and half will receive a placebo (saltwater shot) to see if the vaccine reduces new infections.
