Nerve block offers hope for debilitating headache sufferers

NCT ID NCT06374524

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a greater occipital nerve block (a simple injection) can temporarily relieve severe headaches caused by spontaneous intracranial hypotension (a spinal fluid leak). About 34 adults with this condition will receive the nerve block and be monitored for pain changes. The goal is to provide a safe, accessible bridge treatment while patients wait for more invasive procedures.
