New sports drink study tests if glycerol boosts hydration

NCT ID NCT07217834

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether a glycerol-electrolyte flavored drink helps healthy, active adults retain more fluid than a regular flavored placebo drink. Thirty participants will drink one liter of either beverage and have their fluid balance measured by body weight and urine output. The goal is to see if the glycerol drink leads to better hydration.
