Summary
This study tested whether glutamine, a natural amino acid, can reduce symptoms and improve gut barrier function in people with functional dyspepsia (persistent stomach discomfort). Twelve adults took either glutamine or a placebo for a set period. Researchers measured symptom changes using questionnaires and a urine test for intestinal permeability. The goal was to see if glutamine is safe and helpful for this condition.
