NCT ID NCT07009704

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 21, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether wearing a continuous glucose monitor and joining a group chat with other pregnant participants can help keep blood sugar levels healthy. High blood sugar during pregnancy can cause problems for both mother and baby. The researchers hope that seeing real-time glucose levels and getting support from peers will help participants make better choices. The study is recruiting 70 pregnant women at Tufts Medical Center.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

real-time continuous glucose monitor and mobile-based social support

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way for pregnant people to keep blood sugar in check and reduce health risks for themselves and their baby.

What could go wrong

This is a small early study with only 70 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The group chat and monitor may not be enough to improve outcomes for all.
